George Hutchens

The holidays are right around the corner. You still have time to order the beautiful greenery you want for your home’s holiday decor.

I am a Senior in High School, I play the Mellophone in the Marching Band, sit on my church council, and I am ready to take on the rank of Eagle Scout.

The kind purchases you make on my behalf allow me to continue my Scouting experiences. This year, for example, I have gone on several camping trips, paddled through the swamps of Louisiana, helped with programs at the VFW, volunteered at several colour guard ceremonies, and helped several of my fellow younger Scouts learn the Scouting ways.

You can’t find what you like? Consider making a donation towards a wreath for a fallen soldier. The “Fallen Hero” program allows my Troop to participate in placing wreaths on the graves of Soldiers and their family members buried at the Fort Sheridan National Cemetery. It is really a moving experience. We try to cover as many headstones as we can each year.

Thank you so much for reading my letter and your contributions towards my Scouting experiences.
